Diwali diet chart: How to eat delicious Diwali cuisine while keeping your calorie intake in check
If you balance out your calories with some healthy additions to your cuisine, you won't feel bad about eating your favorite Diwali dishes like chakli, laddoo, jalebi, and biryani.

During the Diwali celebrations, follow the below diet:
The start of the day
- 2 glasses of water to start the day Lemon juice can be added for extra cleansing benefits.
- Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with your favorite Diwali savory after 10 minutes like Chakali (2-3), chivda (1 cup), murukku (1 cup), shankarpali or namak para (1 cup), gujiya (1-2), and laddoo .
Breakfast
- You can choose from a variety of fruits or a fruit bowl.
- You can have 1 loaded paratha, 1 bowl of poha with 1 tbsp chutney

Mid-morning
1 laddoo or a mixture of dried fruits
Lunch
- Lunch you can have one large salad or raita bowl.
- Serve with roti or rice and 1 cup dal and 1 cup sabzi.
- Add 1/2-1 tsp ghee to the mixture.
- Pour yourself a glass of buttermilk.

It's tea time.
- With your favorite Diwali savory dinner, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
- Include dal, sprouts, paneer, or a non-vegetarian ingredient in two cups of salad or soup.
