Signs you are gaining weight
Obesity is a serious health problem that has developed into an epidemic in recent decades. It is mostly caused by two factors: bad eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. Getting in shape is important not just to look good, but also to reduce the risk of getting chronic conditions. The best thing you can do is start taking care of your body weight now so you don't have to go through the whole process of losing weight later. There are several telltale symptoms that your weight gain is progressing into something more serious, and you should take action to manage it before it becomes severe. Here are five warning signals to keep an eye out for.
Clothes are getting tight
It's typical for your weight to fluctuate slightly over a month or two. This is extremely prevalent in women around the time of their monthly menstrual cycle, and it is caused by hormonal changes and water retention. However, if you are having trouble fitting into your regular clothes or new items that you purchased a few months earlier, this is a red flag. You won't be able to close the buttons, particularly in the middle, or your arms will be too tight or the denim waist won't fit. Take these warnings seriously.
Swollen legs and feet
Excess weight puts strain on the nerve system in your legs and feet, which transports blood from the heart to the rest of your body. As a result, when you are overweight, your nerves are unable to function properly. Obese people are more likely to develop varicose veins or blood clots in extreme cases. Furthermore, weight gain may lead to weight gain, putting them at risk of a heart attack.
Fatigue
If you're constantly exhausted, see if you've gained weight in the last several months. Even after a full night's sleep, people who gain weight typically feel exhausted in the morning. This is because fat causes sleep apnea by disrupting respiratory flow at night. These folks snore and wake up frequently at night, affecting their sleep quality and making them exhausted during the day.
Breathlessness
Shortness of breath is linked to a variety of health issues, one of which is weight gain. People who are overweight frequently develop a lot of fat around their chest, which makes it difficult to breathe normally. Even ordinary home duties cause them to become out of breath. Even after walking, they find it difficult to lift hefty weights. They may even struggle to breathe properly when lying down in severe situations.
Irregular period and constipation
Weight gain causes hormonal difficulties in women, causing their monthly menstrual cycle to be disrupted. Even the discomfort of menstruation can be too much to bear. Apart from that, both men and women can develop constipation as a result of weight gain.
