Painful ejaculations – Understanding the reasons for an uncommon issue

Ejaculation is usually associated with a feel good sensation but what if it actually turns to be painful. Yes, sex is supposed to be enjoyable, not painful. Do you experience pain while ejaculating causing you to abstain from sex? Painful ejaculation is not something to brush off. It could mean that something is terribly wrong. Not only is painful ejaculation a major inconvenience, it could be an indication of a serious medical condition. If your orgasm is accompanied by a burning sensation or a sore penis, it seems that something is really not right. The reasons could be

  • Infection of the urethra, the tube that passes urine and semen from the body
  • Inflammation and swelling of the prostate gland caused by an infection
  • Inflammation and swelling of one or both the testicles due to a bacterial or viral infection
  • Sexually transmitted infections
  • Nerve damage to the penis
  • A side effect of certain antidepressants
  • A traumatic injury to the genitals
  • Allergic reactions due to latex condoms or spermicidal jelly
Are you experiencing painful ejaculation episodes? Has it made having sex almost impossible? Pain during ejaculation is something that should not be taken lightly. So don’t mess around, get to your doctor right away! One painful orgasm may just be a fluke or the result of delaying the orgasm too long, but remember persistent pain on ejaculation warrants a visit to an urologist. Never be tempted to skip a trip to the Urologist out of embarrassment. If you have been experiencing pain during ejaculation of late, it's time you make an appointment with S10 SafeCare Urologist and get yourself checked.
