Ingredients
- 5 cups peeled and sliced Braeburn apples (about 2 pounds)
- apple butter (three tablespoons)
- Spray for cooking
- 1/4 cup flour (all-purpose)
- 1/4 cup uncooked normal oats
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 3 tablespoons cold butter 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup pecans, chopped
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2
Toss apples and apple butter together in an 8-inch square baking dish coated with cooking spray, and lightly push down to compact.
Step 3
In a medium mixing basin, combine the flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and salt; chop in the butter with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add the pecans and mix well. Over the apples, sprinkle the mixture. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
